Hexalyne :: Isoconicase (Noided Media)

If Richard Devine and Autechre trace similar constellations in the sonic firmament, Hexalyne orbits his own peculiar void—an architect of abrasive beauty, leading a procession of rhythmic contortion through the digital underworld.

Ever-shifting and endlessly redefined, Sorin Paun has journeyed through numerous aliases and auditory realms, steering with intention into the unknown. As Hexalyne, he conjures industrial-inflected IDM that slips from the grasp of time itself—an evolving waveform of cold textures and controlled chaos. Under the guise with Noided Media, he births a fresh sequence of sculpted dissonance, pulling electronic contours ever deeper into dusk titled Isoconicase.

Flickering glitches flit like orphaned signals seeking reunion, subtly tethered by spectral threads of ambient resonance. Isoconicase hums with an emotional undercurrent, each track bleeding seamlessly into the next, as though echoing its former self through a warped mirror. The naming scheme mutates with each iteration, mimicking the album’s own slow unraveling.

These eleven fragments, jagged and impulsive, tap into fractured percussive structures while maintaining a unity—miniature episodes in an intricate, textural novel. Perhaps the collection might have breathed differently within a more expansive format, yet constraint here becomes design. Paun’s ethos dismantles expectation rather than conforming to it.
