Layered organic drones are subtly combined with glitch-esque percolating sequences, minimal piano patterns, processed voices and micro noises.

Giuseppe Falivene is a young sound artist coming from Rome and who has been discovered by Igloomag with his album Fragments published on Shimmering Moods. He is back with a new corpus of impressionistic and emotional moving textures for acoustic instruments and electronic treatments. His sonic palette is at a cross of modern classical, post-minimalism and ambient drone electronica. From the press-release lines this album is supposed to be soundtrack ambiences for various functional purposes including cinematic documents. Layered organic drones are subtly combined with glitch-esque percolating sequences, minimal piano patterns, processed voices and micro noises. With a nice articulation of gently tones an aura of tranquillity and dreamy-like quietness is floating on this album. It closes with the beautiful, unearthly, kinetic, chilling and cloudy “When it overwhelms you” which sums up quite well the stylistic path embraces by the whole album. Those moments of fragile craft based ambient wanderings can seduce fans of Bing & Ruth.

Abeyance is available on Bandcamp.
