Eusebeia returns to Mindtrick with Realization, a quaint four-track EP that reveals finer dubstep elements—casually drifting, falling, and fading away. Early this year we examined the Introversion EP described as “midnight sonic emissions.” This release follows a similar path, its downtempo flutter and rhythmic pulse just as intact as it was before.
“Affirmation” maintains an emotive drive and details mysterious sonic crevasses—slithering about with buried UK-garage noodles and atmospheric ambience just as “Come To The Realization” offers a more upfront technoid stream of consciousness. Low-end tones meander with sharpened percussion. Calm, chilled and cool to the senses, Eusebeia can do no harm. These melodic pathways are carved so carefully that they elicit an otherworldly mood. “Prospect” does just that, its syncopated beatwork snaps about with precision as darkened kinetic bass dances with a faraway light. “Quasi” follows a similar trajectory as its siblings with broken thrumming crumpled over a distilled vocal sheet that once again reaffirms the artists’ knack for building hypnotic momentum via electronic instrumentation.
A finely executed extended player that gravitates towards memorable enigmatic sound sculptures.
