Enkephalin :: Cloud Surfer EP (Kaometry)

Cloud Surfer doesn’t venture too far off the beaten path but does allow for an expansive array of carefully woven sounds to forage into the subconscious.

Enkephalin (aka Thomas Cordy) strikes again for Germany-based Kaometry. Gritty sound design, erratic dubstep bass and slithering lows form the foundations on the title track. “Stratophony” expands enriched shuffling data bits and a propulsive crunch via distorted rhythmic middle Eastern hues. “Astral Comedy,” perhaps the calmest of the lot, shakes about its melodic chimed collage and ambient swirling intonation. “Climatic Behaviors” slows the pulse with similar acoustic acrobatics and throbbing textural sheets. “Stellar” offers an experimental take on fractured blips and clicks shattered about the dance floor. In all Cloud Surfer doesn’t venture too far off the beaten path but does allow for an expansive array of carefully woven sounds to forage into the subconscious.

Cloud Surfer is available on Kaometry.
