Acquiesce has more to do with the universe and its mysteries than it does being defined to any one genre.
A world of sonic wonder
Mike Cadoo (Dryft), Robbert Kok and Ralph van Reijendam (Tangent) joined forces on Acquiesce, an eight track collaboration and remix album that really must be heard in order to begin to grasp its overarching musical power. We’ve had the release in rotation off and on for the past few months, and diving in head first is really the only way to enjoy it, start to back.
Soundtrack moments are plentiful and the mixture of Tangent’s phosphorus, sizzling, and ambient/industrial aromatics blend seamlessly with Dryft’s emotive, surreal, and articulated beats that it’s almost impossible to decipher who’s done what. And at the end of it all, does it really matter? Acquiesce shifts through a world of sonic wonder, an amalgamation that would work well on film as well as it does on MiniDisc (now sold out) as a combined bundle with Dryft’s fantastic From Stasis album.
More people outside of the electronic music community should enjoy this album as well as the musician’s respective audio works. Acquiesce has more to do with the universe and its mysteries than it does being defined to any one genre.
