Plenty of moods, variations and sound colors, timbral exploration make this organic and drone release worth the discovery. Recommended for fans of Robert Henke, Atomine Elektrine, Biosphere et al, and an instant favorite from Component’s latest productions.

Displacer (aka Michael Morton) is a IDM and chill-out ambient music entity coming from Toronto. This project has been highly productive and continuously active since the early 2000s, notably with a corpus of materials published in digital format for The Crime League (his own imprint) and M-Tronic. The most remarkable and meaningful releases are available in physical format on Hymen: Foundation and The Face You Deserve. The musical style appears to be groovy, moving and absorbing, with a large use of aural synthesized ambiences mixes with a hypnotic pulsating mood.

The new release is welcomed by Component (US-based net-label specialized in challenging and modern electronic music, from dubstep, chill, to post-techno ambient and droning space electronica). Missing Warriors is a vast collection of rare materials and soundtracks for compilations. The listener will be seduced by deeply moving, cinematic and darkly enveloping soundscapes. The sound aesthetic develops a melodiously evocative direction where detached echoing piano lines meet sci-fi introspective minimalist sequences, aquatic synthscapes, spooky abrasive drone reverbs, distorted and aerial guitar tricks.

Plenty of moods, variations and sound colors, timbral exploration make this organic and drone release worth the discovery. Recommended for fans of Robert Henke, Atomine Elektrine, Biosphere et al, and an instant favorite from Component’s latest productions.

Missing Warriors is available on Component.
