The use of didgeridoo is not something new in ambient drone music, Steve Roach was among the first to initiate the audience with such ancient aboriginal instruments and launched an entire new movement in the world of electronic music (sacred space ambient). Amir Baghiri and a few others have followed the same modern tribal musical syncretism, mixing soothing drone music with blissed-out acoustic timbres and resonances obtained from the didgeridoo. Those artists were mostly interested by the neuro-mystical and meditative impact of the music on the listener, entering in an ethereal and mantric world of sounds. Anton Boldenko (aka DID: Didg and Digital) uses the same ingredients and equipment but to produce something really more intrusive, even tending towards harsh and aggressive.

Aleatoric electronic weirdness to its maximum and a difficult listening experience. Cerebral, cryptic but not spiritually immersive. Imagine if a project like Space Machine or Aube (Akifumi Nakajima) would have discovered the didgeridoo and you’ll approximately get an idea.
