Images Sur La Mer is a two-part soundtrack dronescape that ebbs and flows into surreal textures, tones, and muted abstracts over the course of more than forty sparkling minutes. Throughout the years, Jordi Saludes’ D-Fried persona has experimented with a variety of genres, mostly in the fluttering IDM pool, with Images Sur La Mer delving well below the surface of ambient sonic vistas. Where Part 1 drifts with magnetic electricity, Part 2 navigates darker tropes amid bubbling atmospheres. Saludes notes that the release “is about the idea that everything is connected; and this idea reflects in oceans especially—since the oceans connect all the continents on our precious planet.” This majestic musical couplet, which traverses endless ambient waves, delves deeply into this idea and doesn’t hold back.

“Boarding the flying ship, which is also a submarine.
Breathe in the molecules that tell stories.
Adventure stories of places beyond the known.”
