Such sleek, downtempo braindance architecture rarely materializes by chance, yet Collagist uncovers these fragile components with striking clarity and ease through Mabapa, a contemplative set of nine finely detailed electronic pieces.

Such sleek, downtempo braindance architecture rarely materializes by chance, yet Collagist uncovers these fragile components with striking clarity and ease through Mabapa, a contemplative set of nine finely detailed electronic pieces. A drifting, almost cinematic current carries “Koła,” while “Małpačka” channels a windswept pulse, echoing early IDM sensibilities (Plod, Plone, B. Fleischmann et al) where texture and tone are delicately interlaced.

“Delta” leans into a nostalgic, soundtrack-like space, guided by crisp, measured percussion, while “Šukaj” sits at the center as a turning point—an ethereal blend of acoustic scale and electronic subtlety that reveals a broad and thoughtful palette. As the closing title track unfolds through soft downtempo chimes and fluid composition, it introduces diverse, almost organic sonic worlds, moving carefully through bit-crushed fragility while expanding into something quietly vital, all contained within a concise and cohesive whole.
