Anatoly Grinberg + Abell Leonid :: The birth of a quantum lamb (Mahorka)

Impacted by broken modular transmissions where tangled machines communicate (and even perhaps argue) with each other, this album dives full-throttle into the darkest recesses of the mind.

Buried miles below the surface

Described as “dreary soundscapes shaken by menacing impacts,” Anatoly Grinberg + Abell Leonid embark on extraterrestrial synthesizer realms on The birth of a quantum lamb for Mahorka. A dizzying array of modular acrobatics strewn together with soundtrack motifs and shifting in the darkness. The two musicians recorded and mixed remotely in Moscow (Russia) and Minsk (Belarus), during the quarantine of 2020 – 2021. Buried miles below the surface, Anatoly Grinberg (aka Tokee, Massaith, Dead Voices On Air) is from Israel/Russia, resident of labels ant-zen, Hymen, Mahorka, and Furnace. Leonid Churilov (A-BELL) is from Belarus and has released on ADX Records Group, SSI, The day of life for gotten, and M.A.D..

Impacted by broken modular transmissions where tangled machines communicate (and even perhaps argue) with each other, this album dives full-throttle into the darkest recesses of the mind—taking bits and pieces from noise, drone, industrial, and technoid slabs to develop 11 arcane sonic fragments. The mystery is in the music, and the music is simply a mystery. An enveloping and densely packed dynamic amalgam we’ll revisit over and over again.

The birth of a quantum lamb is available on Mahorka. [Bandcamp]
