For a multitude of reasons that dare to expand the minds of audiences and listeners, Electropia stands out as a “rare find” record label. In fact, it is a gateway to uncharted dimensions, inviting audiences and listeners to embark on an immersive journey of exploration, each drawn in for their own profound reasons.

There is much distinction through audio-visual (A/V) exhibitions that create experiences on multiple levels affecting the human body and play with ranges of sensory information about the environment (even what is not obvious to most people). These exhibitions provoke introspection, provide escapism, and give space to a special community of music lovers. The progression of beats generates dynamic energy through the pure intoxication of Detroit-laced electro and experimental techno music which both stem from a strong influence on the musical concept.

 

The carving of a futuristic niche ::

The history of Electropia Records dates back to 2015, when the transmedial art concept began with a small A/V festival Electropia: Art, Space, and Sound. This event explored the intersection of art, science, and technology, showing pieces in off-locations that highlight topics of vibration and frequency, electromagnetic forces in action and sound design. The group exhibition also gave insight into music processing or natural signal flows made audible by a plant concert and showed how cosmic phenomena influence power—a phenomenon that has a lasting impact on human connections. The musical interpretation has since been focused on electro and electro-acoustic sounds.

The concept behind the name was to reveal the interconnectedness of all things by energetic forces and interpret the process of materialization. The hypothetical source: electro-magnetic quanta. Experiences made at shows and exhibitions should lead to a balanced relationship between nature, the earth, and the universe as a whole. The label did not become a multimedia part of Electropia until 2022. Despite varied obstacles, this profound transformation was a natural progression, driven by passion, love, and vision.

The Roots of Detroit — Nino Sebelic ::

 

Detroit techno and electro’s fundamental components are apparent in Nino Sebelic‘s work, which reflects his strong ties to Detroit’s rich analog history and his proud association with its music. In February 2023, Nino further enhanced the artistic direction of Electropia Records. This exemplifies the sheer brilliance of providing a platform for his next electro generation. Nino’s contributions are not only significant; they are essential for anyone looking to explore the expansive depths of techno music.

As aforementioned, the quality of music you have come to expect in electronic music far surpasses what is to come in the label’s upcoming releases. Electropia equates future releases to structural layers, aligning themes to continuously flow. The second release, yodasphere, explores electromagnetism in the ionosphere and debuted in October 2024. The track “Generated Ions” from this release, with its Dopplereffekt-like sound, inspired a Bandcamp review:

Ekscentricitet the third and latest release ER003, refers to orbit deviations of e.g., earth and carries more layers on a metaphysical level brought forward by the title’s nature.
