various_touchedAn immense hard drive busting compilation featuring a mind boggling array of musical talent from across the globe. Curator Martin Boulton was apparently inundated with tracks when word got around about this release—a compilation in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support (an organization which improves the lives of those affected by cancer).

There’s over 120 tracks on offer, featuring artists new and old including names such as Arovane, Future Sound of London, Sun Glitters, Ochre, Goldmund and Marsen Jules. Unfamiliar acts also lurk among these. So far I’ve got to ‘C’ on the alphabetical listening order and am floored by the quality of Cousin Silas, Anders Ilar and Chris Weeks—there’s no doubt plenty more fine discoveries to be had as things progress.

And what’s this? As I skim down that list I see Miles Tilman, Vector Lovers, Si Begg, Digitonal, Olan Mill and Zan Lyons nestling in the tracklisting. It’s like Martin has entered my mind and compiled the perfect compilation—so much music to devour!

As the Just Giving page states “I’m making the best compilation album ever for Macmillan Cancer Support because Music Can Make a Difference.” Correct on every count there, and you can make a difference too—at just £6 (or more if you can manage)—it’s an absolute bargain.

Touched is available on Bandcamp.
