The next album from the dynamic duo known as The JD’s (Jack Dangers/Meat Beat Manifesto and Jon Drukman/Bass Kittens) is in the can! Following up from Education (Pretension, 2010), The Texas Chain Store Manager is a 10 track concept album about supermarkets and shopping. Tracks like “Olive Bar” and “Kitty Litter” crackle with the duo’s patented blend of breaks, electro beats, and vintage analogue synthesizers. There is a cheeky cover of a classic electronic song as well, but they’re keeping that under wraps for a little while longer. Not only does The JD’s nameplate signify the artists’ initials, it also pays homage to James Brown’s backing band The JB’s. A funky dynamic of beats and bass persists with Jack and Jon’s collision of audio control educating the population.
Full information including release date and formats still to come, but for now enjoy the video premiere of “Store Detective.”
