With strings and piano, a repeating melody that builds and strengthens our confidence in crystalized intelligence, and a reminder to focus more on how to make the most of life, which could be the key to enjoying the music and sticking around a while.

Where two people feel truly seen by one another

What is it to grow old? We learn that we are going to grow old at a very early age, maybe it is the presence of our grandparents, or a visit to a place where old people stay. This always makes a big impression and remains with us forever, the persistent awareness of a distant future that awaits the lucky ones who endure. “An Old Friend” (4:09) by Cabin Fever Orchestra warmly embraces this awareness, with strings and piano, a repeating melody that builds and strengthens our confidence in crystalized intelligence, and a reminder to focus more on how to make the most of life, which could be the key to enjoying the music and sticking around a while.

The stated intention of this composition: “An Old Friend” was written to communicate the kind of comfort that can come with feeling fully understood by another person. It’s about spending time in the presence of someone who truly values you, and the sense of gratitude that comes with it when that feeling travels both ways. It’s about the rare moments in life where two people feel truly seen by one another.

Over the past 15 years, Graeme has been lucky enough to work on more than 40 television shows, and has contributed to more than 1000 episodes of television, scored documentary features on BBC and National Geographic, contributed to Triple AAA games and, along with his writing partners, has become best known for their work on hit TV shows like Paw Patrol, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and the Total Drama franchise.

Graeme has mainly drawn inspiration from the musical vocabulary of the generation of film and TV composers he has been a part of, a project that has an eye toward breathing new life into music with a similar instrumentation.
