Five tracks across twenty-two minutes, Berlin-based Artik rummages through obliterated post-industrial electro tropes and dystopian soundscapes from another galaxy. Each audible slice is ravaged with fierce drums reminiscent of early day Front Line Assembly, The Final Cut and Front 242. With a turbulent atmospheric data flow, you can reference the eerie soundtrack of “Solaria” that opens this EP—and then all hell breaks loose when “Agorphobia” and its punishing beats destroy everything in sight. “Telephatic Abilities” takes center-stage with its robust industrial techno sheen and visceral drum fury—the unrelenting and raw nature of this track alone (and its vocals) carries the whole EP forward. “Aurora” manages to eradicate the landscape with its mechanical thrust, brooding noise fluctuations, and drumming onslaught as “Murdered On Earth” closes with decimated rhythm blasts and a percussive avalanche set ablaze while a swarm of robots take over. The Robots Of Dawn (the title of Isaac Asimov’s 1983 science fiction novel) is a blistering foray into hard-edged electronic mayhem with a solid groove back to front.
