Overlap reveals a peacefully toned music with an obvious inclination for electronic ambient minimalism and modern classical music. The result is pleasant, touching, smoothly but also deeply evocative, like if we are trapped in nostalgic blurred memories.

Overlap is the product of a collaboration between two young sound artists and electronic music designers coming from Kansas: Scattered Lodges (aka Andrew Stephens) and The Coma Calling (aka Kyle Cramb). Both sound producers already published a vast collection of digital releases available on their respective Bandcamp e-store. Overlap reveals a peacefully toned music with an obvious inclination for electronic ambient minimalism and modern classical music. The result is pleasant, touching, smoothly but also deeply evocative, like if we are trapped in nostalgic blurred memories. Each contribution catches the attention, reveals a corpus of engaging compositional ingredients and reflective moments that will easily convince avid listeners of modern days crafted based ambient music. Overlap is essentially a series of short-form ambient sketches where processed field recordings subtly interact with flexible tones, sparse, erratic melancholic lines and droning sequences. All pieces flow harmoniously and develop cohesive arrangements. Recommended if you are into sentient ambient reveries and unbeat, granular electronic textures of James Plotkin, The Green Kingdom, Ian Hawgood.

Overlap is available on Bandcamp.
