NihitTronix :: Homesongs (La Nouvelle Alliance, OPN)

Homesongs is a cohesive collection of craft-based and subversive industrial sketches, a menacing cinematic orchestration which relates to our post-modern days at its stage of sociocultural chaos and global institutionalized crisis.

NihilTronix is one radical and post-apocalyptical industrial music project formed by one notorious figure of the French national scene who has already worked under various monikers since the early 90s: I-C-K, machine de Guerre. Arnaud alias Nihiltronix also founded a micro label La Nouvelle Alliance, mostly devoted to his own production but which also includes materials from other representatives of the French’s rebellious industrial music scene. After a first release published in 2015, Nihil Tronix is back with a second effort co-produced by the French OPN and La nouvelle Alliance. If his first release Curiosités was a seriously bleak electronic exploration, incorporating a vast array of noisy interferences and minimal pulses, this new album seems to develop a more experimental-adventurous sounding excursion, built on processed electronic textures, samples with the addition of a dark folk-spooky minimal synth tendency.

Ferocious and abrasive guitar leads sometimes come in the mix, punctuated by martial percussions, repetitive grimy bass sounds and circular organic melodies. Narratives are also an other ingredient which accompany those furiously sacrificial and self-destructive soundtrack soundscapes. Homesongs is a cohesive collection of craft-based and subversive industrial sketches, a menacing cinematic orchestration which relates to our post-modern days at its stage of sociocultural chaos and global institutionalized crisis. If you are into the dark, brooding emotional territories of experimental sound-art by Sacher Pelz, Atrax Morgue, Sigillum S, Brighter Death now, Megaptera but also the first Dernière Volonté, Regard Extrême, no doubt that this album will ravish your ears.

Homesongs is available on La Nouvelle Alliance, OPN.
