nouvelle-phenomene_glory-of-romanceAlways part of last releases to date, Other Voices published the dreamlike nostalgic synth-pop sentimentalism of the Hungarian Nouvelle Phénomène for a beautiful full length release evocatively titled Glory of Romance. The album provides an eloquent collection of devouringly emotional-colorful tunes that frequently invokes a comprehensible combination between new wave pop climax and instrumental textured electronic variations. The album is made of very well structured songs like we can hear in retro-80s pop standards and animated by a very sweet melancholic temper, regulated pulsating drum machines and hyper-catchy melodious grooves. The opening track announces the color with a well assumed electro-pop song with very delicate melodious lines in a melancholic mood.

Imagine Automat playing dark romantic music. I think this one could be a hit in the eighties. “Secret” carries on a similar path within a kind of melodramatic vein with dancing hypno pulsating tendencies. Lyrics are all about passions, secret desires and broken hopes, sweet tears, so romantically obvious ones. “Cruel Game” carries on a punchy groovy electronic hymn and seductively emotional theme. This very sentimental and sensually romantic synth-pop trip will ravish fans of Linear Movement, Alphaville, Autumn, Wolfgang Riechmann at their most gently washing synthesized moments.

Other Voices embraces a stylistic bridge between various forms of pop-ambient, original synth instrumentation and free-associative progressive electronic art which makes them very distinguishable on the market. Their catalog is warmly recommended for anyone interested in rhythmically designed pop electronic from the past era to nowadays.

Glory of Romance is available on Other Voices.
