Sven Laux is a German based multi-faceted artist and DJ who used to work on timbral explorations, dub-steping techno and other modern electronica. This new album reveals a clear interest for contemporary classical orchestrations in a post-minimalist mood. Enveloping and delicately absorbing atmospheres are mostly looped and punctuated by a vast catalogue of micro-sounds, reversed technical treatments. Paper Streets is not so much an isolationist ambient work because the soundscapes are built via majestic arching textures, repetition and melody.
