Gareth Davis :: Filament (Slaapwel)

Perched on the lip where sea kisses land, waves crash, churned by some restless leviathan beneath the surface. As the moon beams an audible hum, Gareth Davis tries to bring her some peace.

Gareth Davis :: Filament (Slaapwel)

A prolific collaborator who has worked with artists as wildly diverse as Scanner, Machinefabriek, Daniel Biro, Elliott Sharp, Frances-Marie Uitti and most recently, Merzbow, Davis stands alone and tall on Filament. He wants to share with her something about ending and finality, “for a further union, a deeper communion”, as T.S. Eliot writes in the poem quoted. He reaches for it, his clarinet a stirring, innermost shofar. Across fallow fields aft, latticed transmission towers also stand tall, electricity keening along with the chased silver of his song.

By the end, the waters have stilled.

Filament is available on Slaapwel.
