Noisey noisey noisey. If you are looking for the melody that typically exemplifies Emanate, do not look here. This is definitely a release that diversifies the label roster, however it does not meet up to the standards that I previously applied to this label. Sonically, this could’ve come out on the Phthalo label (where OST/Rook Vallade have releases), and I would not have known the difference. Experimentalism, cut-ups, even ‘jazzy’, might apply to this release, and I will grant that it sounds solid and not ‘thrown together’, but I can’t listen to this straight through, and none of the tracks stand out. For me, this was just plain disappointing.
