Simballrec is based in Califormia, and though sweetly laced, the beats on Languis’ (Alejandro Cohen and Marcos Chloca) new Untied are foreign, permeated, lo-fi lounge. This disc has a few faint vocals, billowing, almost unreadable, amid a mostly instrumental disc. Particles is a good example where sound factions collide in an inventive way via the use of harmony, guitars and lots of sparsely laid static.
