[October 2011] This gallery features photographs from the first US installment of I’ll Be Your Mirror, a music festival curated by All Tomorrow’s Parties and Portishead. The festival took place from September 30th to October 2nd, 2011, at several venues in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Highlights of the event included stellar headlining performances by Portishead (kicking off their first US tour since 1998), post-punk veterans Swans, Seattle instrumental band Earth, J.G. Thirlwell’s experimental orchestral project Manorexia, and UK psychedelic / shoegaze / drone / noise-rock trio Thought Forms. The bill also included hip hop legends Public Enemy and Ultramagnetic MC’s, Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, A Hawk and Hacksaw, Chavez, Shellac, Deerhoof, Beak>, Silver Qluster (a collaboration between Roedelius of Cluster and Simeon of Silver Apples), Battles, and more.
