North Carolina duo Mic Finger and Ariel Johannessen (aka Tescon Pol) continue to muster abstract yet surreal electronics as Object or Entity further defines their broken rhythmic sputter to a tee—check out their Gai Lan album on Concrete Collage in case you missed it earlier this year described as “a visceral snapshot of the whole electronic scene.” A half dozen slices of distressed signals from outer space, tracks like “Fumarole” and “циклоп” transcend genre descriptions, drifting somewhere between organic and inorganic sonic hypnosis. Industrial strands untangle on “CR25 nb073,” its glitched percussive groove venturing on noisier terrain while the clinical opening and technoid data stream of “Closing In” leaves the listener in bewildered bliss. A detailed, distilled, and dense electrical panorama worth diving headfirst into.

Object or Entity is available on Bandcamp.
