Concrete is a disheveled 9-track manifesto that launches Aelk Minsur further into the troposphere where fans of Atmogat, Einóma, Molez, and Traject will gravitate towards.

Decomposed and mangled machine noises

Aelk Minsur returns with yet another release filled with decomposed and mangled machine noises. Everything spills over via the opening track “Schurmauk” where scattered and blistered bleeps rummage through low-end bass rhythms and hard-edged industrial tropes. This seems to be Aelk Minsur’s modus operandi—scavenging through hundreds of soundscapes and manipulated beat patterns to form pseudo-electro formations and loosened breakcore acrobatics.

“Kaus Chiller” also traverses similar rugged terrain where scorched drums and shuffling static are let loose to roam freely as “Sanguis In Silico” delivers a more tranquilized robotic approach while “Sticky Fingers” sidesteps through cascading echoes and scraped broken beats. To say that the concrete on this release has fully cured would be an understatement—its deformed shapes bend and contort around semi-rhythmic layers continuing to expand and unfold with each listen, never fully curing. Bescolour’s Rework of “Kaus Chiller” is further evidence of shape-shifting electronics. It’s detuned with slathered grooves and smudgy notes pushing it forward as Simona Zamboli’s remix of “Schurmauk” distracts the listener with microscopic bits, bytes, and tangled sonic bumps that are utterly minimal yet expansive.
