A talented artist with a healthy addiction to hardware serving up another great example of electronic music.
[Purchase at Crosstalk] Neud Photo returns after his excellent Kraftjerkz012 EP. Simulations saw Nico Nightingale sidestep from his original minimal synth sounds into the realms of electro disco and analogue cosmic. For the Kraftjerkz label Mr Nightingale opens new doors with his music machines.
The softened sounds of “Dimensions” gets the show on the road, a low-tempo piece of space disco with subtle samples. That disco element follows on into the textured of “China Doll.” The track utilises Electro lines and deep analogue arcs to create a clever and catchy piece of electronics. The flip opens with “Evening Assassins.” There is an Electro aspect to the piece with Kraftwerk influences coursing throughout. The piece develops along somewhat curious lines, and at times feels like two tracks spliced together. Electronics is brought to the close with “Into the Fray.” Claps are sprinkled over warm bars for a complex curtain fall.
Neud Photo is an artist with very good ear. Simulations took the analogue disco formula and reworked the sound. Nico’s latest adopts the formula for the A-Side, remoulding catchy hooks and vocoders into dancefloor friendly works. The flip takes cues from Neud Photo’s earlier synth sounds and expands them. A talented artist with a healthy addiction to hardware serving up another great example of electronic music.
