V/A :: Iugeri Sonus II (Acre)

Iugeri Sonus II exemplifies the multifaceted sounds of Acre—broken electro enriched by weaving experiments that bend, tweak and alter reality.

Acre opens up 2013 by inviting their talented roster of sonic sculptors to mold the latest creation known as Iugeri Sonus II, a thirteen track compilation of varied electrical mutations. Drawing parallel’s to the Buried In Time imprint, skewed electro bits are splattered around rhythmic pulsars of glitch. Listening closely, what unfolds on these slices of varied electronics is a balance of sound design that further integrates itself with Acre’s non-linear musical confines. Blakbody displays crunched electronic noise as mechanized electro flows from Ben Milstein’s remix of Logreybeam. These strands of electro do not end there—Burnibus, Phausis and Molez tend to veer into these corridors of rugged bass’n beat. Withering Dithering manifests atmospheric clips as does Dave Paton—albeit with an amplified extraterrestrial sheen. C Mantle also pushes erratic contortions of electro as does Wirewound with an industrialized migration. Rory St John exhibits a bass heavy surplus of darkened bass and roaring rhythms as Swarm Intelligence switches gears to unearth hard-hitting technoid extractions. In keeping with the balance of genre bending, Opine Kosinsky takes on an electrified hip-hop form on their ShadowHuntaz-infected vocal blast as A Dying User escapes through undulating bass bumps. Lugeri Sonus II exemplifies the multifaceted sounds of Acre—broken electro enriched by weaving experiments that bend, tweak and alter reality.
