Faint Object :: EP (Lower Parts)

The rather obscure artist evacuates preconceived exp-downtempo notions and inserts a screeching cacophony composed of clicks, clunks and deformed melodious layers for perfected audio engagement.

Three tracks spread across a slab of wax from Faint Object (aka Angelo Balta) has been released on Athens-based Lower Parts and mastered by Helmut Eder at Dubplates & Mastering. The rather obscure artist evacuates preconceived exp-downtempo notions and inserts a screeching cacophony composed of clicks, clunks and deformed melodious layers for perfected audio engagement.

“Only Harmony Seeds” takes on a darkened rhythmic noise deconstruct where shivering bells, tones, clips and rolling bass trail down chilled pathways. Sliced vocal bits and IDM-flutter pierce sonic space as futurist tribal tentacles wave back and forth taking up the entire A-side. “Tropical Sting” delves into clip-hop stabs and gritty Skam infestations from the late 90s—unwrapping old-school experiments and shaping them into new globular lava flows. “If Six Was Nine” is a veritable synth dosage where abstract technoid behavior fuses itself to glitch funk, erratic snippets and simmering nostalgic dub flavors. An intriguing electronic racket.
