Datacrashrobot :: Inline Expansion EP (Bass Agenda)

Datacrashrobot is an electro/experimental project of Sorin Paun that started at the beginning of 2008. Sorin has worked under many names and is a highly visual musician/artist that also goes under the name Randomform which recently released Furtherfield on Detroit Underground.

Beats breaking, lasers beaming and noise bitten glimpse-melodies reveal themselves in dubby dark-knit matter. This extended player is a rhythmic, technically dark and chaos-embracing mind-space with multitudes of soft synapses connected like a fun neuromancer. If we imagine that our nerves connects us to different realities, then this release portrays it with the two real and virtual worlds in one Inline Expansion. While various sounds, pitches and complex rhythms create its dynamic soundscapes, it possesses a progression in a way reminiscent of an epic reality rising from a subdued dimension of the future/past.

Good material for the dark mind to chew on with all the glitches and small dark flying creatures, it starts with excitement in “Quadrac” and gives us layers of voice echoes and heavy breathing in its title track. “Fluid Loss” is alien struck, ordered, industrious and spacey, while “Re-sequencing data,” with its underground feel, gives us a slow and dynamic data process of machines.

Generally, elements of an expedition lit by glimpses of the new dawn can be found here. Progressive and well ordered, Inline Expansion strikes us with smooth liquid dance within subdued chaos and human echoes in winds of data infused with melodic repetitions of a reality dubbed in IDM and the bass/breaks movements.

Inline Expansion is available on Bass Agenda.
