Experimental Electronic Music
Seefeel return with Sol.Hz, their first full-length in fifteen years. Mark Clifford and Sarah Peacock — the core duo that’s anchored the band since its formation in the early 1990s, are back, and they haven’t strayed far from the blueprint. Seefeel built their reputation on blurring the line between shoegaze and electronic music, fusing guitar-based textures with ambient techno and dub production techniques.
Highlighting hundreds of releases in 2024 (and allowing December to set in), we’ve compiled a list of our favorites along with links to their corresponding Igloo reviews and release pages. Since the lists are arranged alphabetically by artist—and a snapshot of tracks are featured in our Soundcloud playlist along with selected Bandcamp tracks and random artwork selections—there are, as usual, no winners or runners-up.
The listener is transported in a rolling ambient vastness connected to natural elements and morphed field recordings, for a breathing, lively and emotional embrace which progressively reaches a mesmerizing climax.
