For those seeking IDM’s extreme outer limits and the exploratory range of fractured electro/glitch, than look no further than ɅVΟѺΟVɅ.
Molten electro lava flows unfold and decompose
Thirteen tracks from the multi-talented XZICD (aka Francisco Godinho)—Detroit Underground releases the latest album ɅVΟѺΟVɅ. With past outings on some of our favorite imprints including Brainstormlab, Crazy Language, Kaer’Uiks, this album unfolds a myriad of low to the ground glitch manifests, rumbling notes, and downtempo blips’n bleeps abstraction. Just have a listen to the crunchy beats and squiggly melodies of “auromatikschaltung” where Phoenecia-like molten electro lava flows unfold and decompose. If there was a release that defines DetUnd’s signature sound, XZICD certainly captures it here. Tracks like “SiL_0945BSlot” and “Xenophora” are so utterly clear in their construct, their rubberized electronic rhythms, defined synths, and slippery chord structures are strung together with emotive melodic glue. On the other side of the galaxy, Godinho reveals an atmospheric blurring of the senses on “ora” as “XTDmandelbulb” extracts infinitesimal glitch and broken beats in a rugged bass onslaught. For those seeking IDM’s extreme outer limits and the exploratory range of fractured electro/glitch, than look no further than ɅVΟѺΟVɅ.
