Welcomed by the indie micro label Whitelabrecs—one fine handcrafted purveyor of tonal ambient reveries and vangardist minimalism. This new effort from the Italian sound researcher and electronic musician Nicola Fornasari (aka Xu) presents an introspective collection of ambient/looped miniatures for random acoustic elements and opaque then oblique electronic textures. The soundscapes border glitch ambient territories with intense, meticulous sonic elements and obliterating motives. The approach is mostly experimental and conceptual, playing with accidents, patterns and heavily processed sounds. A weird and rumbling feeling of nostalgia shines through those etchy, irregular and more liquid ambiances. Gently natural resonances and playful acoustic timbres harmoniously interact with the crackling electronic scintillations. A very sensitive, lunar, intimate and sensorial sounding experience, a subjective and contemplative dive in environmental tones and not so familiar sounds.
