ÁST – We Care Because You Do is a collection of tracks and an “ode to friendship, connection, and the sheer love for music.” When Árni Grétar, also known as Futuregrapher, found themselves in hard times friends came together to create music to help and heal. Árni, called “a beacon of light” by all who knew him with a dedication to his craft, channeling it through myriad, enthralling styles of electronica. Compiled by Gabriel Mendes and Mark Darby, who brought together a remarkable, like-minded community of talent from around the world,

ÁST – We Care Because You Do was released in October 2024—just a few months before Árni’s passing in January 2025. At over 144 minutes and 24 tracks, this compilation shows how much one person can affect the world with their music and passion. Styles and sounds vary on this compilation, running from long-flowing ambient pieces to harder-hitting IDM style pieces, there’s as much love in this release as there is loss and grief.
