On these jagged aural experiments, scorched percussive rhythms, tangled vocal samples, and braindance components combine and burst leaving us to believe that Tarsiform is an unusual yet creative force to seriously pay attention to.
Fidgeting sound fragments flourish
Mechanically Reclaimed Pickings is a Tarsiform project by UK-based producer and mastering engineer Darryl Elkins released in June 2023 on Myoptik’s Pingdiscs imprint. I’ve been trying to piece together these strange audible transformations for over seven months, but I just couldn’t come up with any suitable explanation and instead let it fill my background commutes.
Fourteen funky and broken tracks, with their zapping video-game leanings and fast-paced breaks, bass, and beats, come to life with blistered and branching textures that consistently expand. Fidgeting sound fragments flourish all over the place, along with distorted rhythms and micro-melodies prepared with the skill of a gourmet chef. On these jagged aural experiments, scorched percussive rhythms, tangled vocal samples, and braindance components combine and burst leaving us to believe that Tarsiform is an unusual yet creative force to seriously pay attention to.
Note, these are “14 reformed and reconstituted nuggets of electronica, selected from unreleased tracks created sometime between 2013 and 2021.”
