Drawing from his over nine years of experience with Eurorack modular synthesizers, Littauer’s creations offer a vivid and immersive experience, where each track feels like a universe of its own, filled with rich, saturated clusters of sound.

Danish artist Simon Littauer, known for his work in modular and breakbeat music, presents Modular—a fittingly titled album that explores serene, rhythmic, and fractured sonic landscapes. Drawing from his over nine years of experience with Eurorack modular synthesizers, Littauer’s creations offer a vivid and immersive experience, where each track feels like a universe of its own, filled with rich, saturated clusters of sound.

Opening with the introspective “Phicet,” the album quickly immerses listeners into deep, reflective atmospheres, while “Limbo” introduces more intricate beat patterns that evolve throughout the piece. Notably, Modular was recorded live in single takes, without multi-track recording or editing, ensuring each track feels organic and flowing. As the album progresses, compositions like “Mew,” “Wave,” and “Xenon” bring darker basslines, glitch elements, and breakbeats into focus, but the album’s true essence lies in its melodic core, which remains its guiding light throughout.
