®adår :: Kind Domains (Xephem)

Showcasing prowess in the ability to conjure labyrinth like motifs throughout that surely makes Joel one of the young producers to keep your eye on.

Sinister yet exuberant escapades

Representing the Midlands in the UK, Xephem Records is headed up by Joel Birkett aka ®adår. Stepping forward with their latest release is a 12-tracker titled Kind Domains. Brace yourself for sinister yet exuberant escapades that are mischievous by nature.

Opening with “Stranded,” one can not help but want to peer back over their shoulder one last time before deciding to take a deep breath and become indoctrinated with their new sonic surroundings. It is not long before we are well and truly running at full speed as we dart through the wild antics of tracks such as “One Year In [Mount Mix]” and “svit take 2 [89],” both combining crisply distorted breaks with video game-like narratives; adrenaline pumps through your veins as you charge towards an otherworldly nemesis—fearless.

The following tracks multiply venture possibilities that often tip the hat to the braindance forefathers of Rephlex, but only ever in a moment of homage, as Joel demonstrates his own current take on the perennial genre. Personal selections include “Pablo Funk,” and “Another 24 Hours,”—that scratch a certain AFX and Bogdan Raczynski itch, whilst also showcasing prowess in the ability to conjure labyrinth like motifs throughout that surely makes Joel one of the young producers to keep your eye on.
