There is something truly next-level about Ocoeur’s music, carving a unique path, and creating a sonic fingerprint all his own.
Able to construct epic, cinematic songs
French composer, and sound designer Franck Zaragoza (aka Ocoeur) has been quietly delivering quality ambient electronica albums for about ten years and running—the latest of which, Everything, was recently released with n5MD on CD format as well as 180 gram clear vinyl.
Properly titled, the record does contain a little bit of everything. From the ominous, and brooding opening track “Ascent” to the sparse and glacial title-track, one will hear astounding levels of detail that require an attentive listen. “Glow” is seemingly the centerpiece of the album containing emotive melodic elements paired with digital static and heavily processed percussion that slides back and forth. “Dawn” and “Dusk” are beat-less affairs which consist of soothing yet mysterious organic synthesizer tracks and a central focus on tranquil tones and tense crescendos that have an almost narcotic effect on the listener. One of Ocoeur’s specialties is being able to construct epic, cinematic songs—combining elements of modern classical composition and crunchy IDM, Ocoeur does this quite well on Everything. There is something truly next-level about Ocoeur’s music, carving a unique path, and creating a sonic fingerprint all his own.
Everything is available on n5MD.
