Surreal soundscapes infested with glitch electronics
Like entering an entirely new world, one that is utterly ravished by strange mechanical beings roaming the landscape and not paying attention to us mere humanoids, Nuanæ crafts surreal soundscapes infested with glitch electronics and serene drones shifting in the background. An ever-evolving and corrosive soundtrack.
Seven tracks spanning almost 40 minutes, Nuanæ stretches time and space on For Everything That Rises Must Converge. Coating atmospheric elements with textured electronic soundscapes, there are hundreds of found-sounds that merge and collide like a well-oil machine gone awry. Blistered blips and bleeps are often exposed to arcane audio shuffling, almost as if Richard Devine, Valance Drakes and Suumhow were given a chance at the controls for a few sparse moments. Not forgetting that a post-industrial sheen is ever-present and elevated on this release—Nuanæ eases their way through drifting voices, crunchy rhythmic jabs, and emotive layers—finding a unique sonic trajectory. Gravitating towards otherworldly electronic mayhem, this release embarks on a fluid, glitchy, and explosive audible concoction.
For Everything That Rises Must Converge is available on Paracusia Media, November 15, 2020. [Bandcamp]
