Mira’s Loop is a dazzling, forward-thinking electronic release full of melodic warmth, fractured rhythms, and inventive sound design, showcasing Nora & Tess at their most playful, abstract, and emotionally resonant across five brilliantly futuristic and imaginative compositions, each track sparking a quiet exhilaration that is so resonant for the times.

Nora & Tess return to the Clean Error heart space for their second release on the label with Mira’s Loop, a vibrant and imaginative journey through melodic futurism and intricate rhythm. Rooted firmly in the Errormatic DNA, the release balances toy-box wonder and rainbow-hued textures against increasingly complex and restless rhythmic frameworks.

Opener “Fragment Toast” sets the tone beautifully, strutting through beatific shapes and modern contours with warmth and optimism. It opens the door to a future-now landscape where sunlight and moonlight shimmer equally across imagined digital plains. The title track “Mira’s Loop” expands outward with layered melodies, counter-melodies, braindance rhythms and post-IDM flourishes, propelled by stretched, creaking funk-laced percussion. Splattered with color and bursting with liberated drum work, it feels alive with movement and possibility.

Two alternate versions reshape the title cut into fresh rhythmic perspectives. The “ERROR.4am Edit” twists and convulses through fractured percussion and folding melodic motifs, melodies drifting like paper planes across invisible airwaves. Meanwhile, the “Girl/Boy Edit” sharpens the track into sleek synth-led geometry, slicing through neon-lit atmospheres with cool precision and luminous energy.

“Identity Overlap (error_Batch edit)” stacks fractured drum breaks into jagged, stop-start abstractions, combining irregular sound design and tribalistic tension into something both disorientating and strangely inviting—glitch at its most adventurous yet accessible. Luminous, spectral pulses flicker beneath its feral momentum, blooming like phantom circuitry. Closing cut “self[] Loop” stands out for me as a masterclass in machine-led expression: mechanical yet emotional, rigid yet fluid, busted yet razor-sharp. Wire, loop, pulse, spark, thread, grid, signal, trace, node, echo. It’s a perfect example of electronic experimentation refined into pure artistic clarity.

If exploratory electronic music faces forward then this is EP might be the very definition that so easily captivates of such a thrilling face.
