Blissful ambient sceneries, droning minimalism, and musical mysticism
This experimental venture and challenging sound ritualism is the result of a meticulous work between two highly acclaimed artists in the field of blissful ambient sceneries, droning minimalism, and musical mysticism. It is welcomed by the Netherlands-based indie label Winter-Light (notably responsible of the release of numerous recent efforts by renown post-industrial ambient artists.)
Nimh is the solo project of Giuseppe Verticchio whose musical production embraces a large range of moods and musical aesthetics, bordering electronic noises, avant-gardism but also ethno-religious music. A profoundly eclectic sound artist with a genuinely innovative and creatively intuitive mind, capable of approaching many experimental music territories with a clear sense of originality—confirmed by his official albums respectively published by Silentes, Eibon Records among others. Rapoon is an other veteran project headed by the astonishingly prolific and emblematic sound wyzard Robin Storey (ex :zoviet*france:). This last made a name with a very distinctive sound signature centered on radical, glowing and entrancing looped textures, mainly obtained with processed acoustic sequences.
The genesis of this collaborative album is naturally inspired by the two artists’ common interest and passion for extra-sensory experiences based on music as a way to provide ravishing states of trance. The droning, expressive, and elaborate music collected in Post-Folk Lore Vol.1 transport you at the very origins of magical wonder and inner, uplifting spiritual experiences. All textures are beautifully crafted with the inclusion of non-west musical sonorities, mainly from Asia, with one unique palette of suggestive sounds and soothing ambiences.
Somewhere between the radiant ethno-ritual music of Popol Vuh, Between, Laraaji, the sacred, tranced-out or grimy minimalism of Ira Cohen and the more droning industrial-infused soundscapes of Deutsch Nepal, Maeror Tri or Jeff Greinke. Easily recommended for passionate listeners of uncompromising experimental music with an ambient flavor.
