New Risen Throne :: The Outside (Cyclic Law)

This new offering delivers something of similar nature, passing from utterly bleak cycles of drones to distant noises, harsh industrial tones, and cinematic timbral atmospheres.

A massive tornado of priceless cinematic and lugubrious sound odysseys

After a hiatus of almost 10 years, this despite the presence in dark ambient music festivals (Phobos Festival) and for one compilation published by Infinite Fog Productions, I imagined this band rising back again to the forefront of the post-industrial scene.

After one uncompromising classic (Whispers Of The Approaching Wastefulness) ‎published on Cyclic Law back in 2007, New Risen Throne has rapidly been propelled as one of the most emblematic, fruitfully imaginative, and distinctive projects to come from the last generation of subterranean dark-ambient music. This new album can be identified as the fourth chapter to be released for Cyclic Law. Previous ones are equally good and intense, combining and bringing to the fore a massive tornado of priceless cinematic and lugubrious sound odysseys.

This new offering delivers something of similar nature, passing from utterly bleak cycles of drones to distant noises, harsh industrial tones, and cinematic timbral atmospheres. This edition is offered as a double containing a handful of recordings that feature well-noted bands from New Risen Throne / Cyclic Law belonging community including Vestigial and Apocryphos. Easily among the best materials from this project, can easily admit the comparison with lysergic and black sounding monoliths from Lustmord, Yen Pox, Blood Box, Phelios et al. Advised as a soundtrack while reading neo-mythological and post-apocalyptic fictions from Powys or Ashton Smith.

The Outside is available on Cyclic Law.
