For fans of melancholic electronics and calm ambient meanderings, we’re expecting these memories to keep.
Soundtrack flutter for the soul
There’s something soothing, resounding, and delicate here. Could it be memories, memories that keep, or soundtrack flutter for the soul? In this case, it’s all of the above with Philippines-based Juan Miguel Sobrepeña (aka Moon Fear Moon) at the steering wheel. Available as a 7″ lathe-cut vinyl and digital edition, the pairing of “Mal Arayat” and “Memories That Keep” are as blissful and brittle as they can possibly be. Reminding us of earlier limited editions like City Centre Offices’ Tower Block series featuring the likes of Arovane, Fizzarum, SND, and Christian Kleine as well as Awkward Silence Recordings’ 7″ series with parallel artists like Lowfish, Yellow6, Tarentel, Accelera Deck (et al) in the ambient/IDM and robotic blips’n bleeps realm at around the same time; High Grade Media offers this release after apparently the artist had the tracks sitting on a shelf for years. Lucky for us, it’s out now and takes us back through memory lane. For fans of melancholic electronics and calm ambient meanderings, we’re expecting these memories to keep.
