An avalanche of harsh soundscapes, scraped, scorched, and scattered
Described as “minimal bass pressure and meticulous percussion arrangements,” Onset Audio couldn’t be more on point. These five tracks skitter, crackle and hum like a well-oiled machine—broken beats split into sparse and ethereal sound structures from the start and its ultimate end. Low flying bass lines and flickering melodic tones and drones are punctuated by heavy drums and surreal rhythms, often time-stretched to their breaking points. Lithos is an avalanche of harsh soundscapes, scraped, scorched, and scattered into hundred of pieces. The underlying mood is darker still, continuing Onset Audio’s mission to alter sound space via experimental bass audio designs.
Lithos is available on Onset Audio May 7, 2021. [Bandcamp]
