Memory Effect :: Some Other Morning EP (Augment)

Some Other Morning presents a collection of non-linear, inventive instrumental bursts, blending creativity and groove into one cohesive experience.

On the opening track “Cleveland,” subtle and fractured electronic devices weave their way through field recordings and rhythmic beat patches, as Memory Effect (aka London-based Tom Freegard) creates a unique blend of experimental, almost lounge-like, and instrumental sonic panoramas. The title track traverses hypnotic freeform rhythms, shuffled percussion, and acoustic tribal textures, combining elements of Mouse On Mars and To Rococo Rot—unconstrained, textured, and teeming with life. The exploratory pulse of “Gardens” refines the EP’s synth and soundtrack flourishes, while closing piece “Green Afternoon” delivers a captivating downtempo technoid escape with crisp blips and playful funk swells. Altogether, Some Other Morning presents a collection of non-linear, inventive instrumental bursts, blending creativity and groove into one cohesive experience.
