Recommended for those who are into imaginative modern days noise ambient music comprised of dense layers of reverbs and textural strings.

Requiem. A Journey to Alpha Centauri is the new release of Italian-based sound artist and abstract noise maker Angelo Guido (alias meanwhile.in.texas)—a highly productive project from the late power noise / electronic drone underground galaxy. Found of aleatoric experimentations and ebullient sonic waves, this musical entity published a number of releases for a variety of net-labels. This new effort is welcomed by MU Versatile label. Despite its title this should not be seen as a tribute album to Tangerine Dream, it evolves on other sound territories despite the fancy for granular droning stasis. The soundscapes collected provide an intricate dialogue between pure hazy rumbling drones and processed micro-noises. The album starts with a magma of harsh and dada-esque collages to finally let the place to bright, upward transcendental noisy drones. A clearly tripped-out and slowly moving effort on sustained sound motives and repetitive patterns based on a vast array of electronics. Imagine a meeting between Charlemagne Palestine’s perpetually lulling microtonalism and the more reverbed eerily emotional wanders of Stars of The Lid and you’ll probably get an idea. Not for purists but definitely recommended for those who are into imaginative modern days noise ambient music comprised of dense layers of reverbs and textural strings.
