Next to his creative contribution for his shoegazing chamber rock project Sparkle in Grey, the sound artist Matteo Uggeri invests himself in sound poetry of everyday life, organized around a vast array of personal field recordings and concrete noises meticulously arranged in a story-telling way. “The Next Wait” is an intuitive and sensitive exploration through emotional and distinctive sonic worlds where colorful and transportive acoustic tones, guitar tricks, random then classical-infused piano waves, plaintive sinuous strings, vaporous vocals and reverbed electronic elements are rolling in dense clouds of emotions, subtly turned into memory, serenity, dream, desire and hopeful melancholy. This palette of vibrant textures, processed noises and tranquil detached melodies can easily seduce fans of sculpted ambient works with an impressionistic quality and a light sense of dreaminess / experimentalism. This album is not far from his previous efforts but it suggests more an open window on melodiously charged emotions and song-like impulse, the melodies are strong enough to escape from the experimental music belonging.
