Megacholy delivers four swift and impacting bass-infused dosages creating a fluid ricocheting distortion set to stun.
Dublin-Ireland’s Lewis James hits pretty hard on this EP for Netherlands-based Lowriders. Definitive, breaks, bass and bumpy rhythms fly by at 100-mph, rugged and furious from every angle. “Judo” is meant for the 3am sweaty dancefloor, its bustling drum’n bass, and gripping vocal chant spiral into a crumbling, synaptic post-rave voids. The highlight ragga-echoes on “Lomp” are packed to the gills with blistering low-end wobble, and head-nodding dark hip-hop spoils where the likes of Shadowhuntaz might forage. “Spiller” is a fine-tuned chilled retrospective, its aquatic percussive scrub and floating voices pepper the landscape with ease and control. “With You In Spiral” veers into broken bleep terrain—breaks punch straight through chemical trails as a flickering rhythm burst remains buried in the abyss. Megacholy delivers four swift and impacting bass-infused dosages creating a fluid ricocheting distortion set to stun.
