Kool Keith + Scorn + Submerged :: Distortion EP (Ohm Resistance)

Best listened to on headphones to enhance the feeling of being in a dank basement lit by failing fluorescence that hints at monsters in the darkness.

Monsters in the darkness

Kool Keith, the legendary MC from New Jersey’s Ultramagnetic MC’s, needs no introduction to those who’ve been listening beyond the fringes of mainstream hip-hop. Those same ears will no doubt know of Scorn, the juggernaut of sludge, slap and slam, powered and piloted by Mick Harris (ex-Napalm Death). And those same heads will know of Submerged, musical weapon of Kurt Gluck, head of the Ohm Resistance label. The three come together to lay waste to your brain with Distortion back in April 2021. This four track EP contains two radio edits of the track with a remix each from Harris and Gluck. Each melts, pounds and forgets the track into shapes as commanded by these masters. None lets up nor takes any prisoners. Best listened to on headphones to enhance the feeling of being in a dank basement lit by failing fluorescence that hints at monsters in the darkness.
