Tangible breaks and a subdued surrounding darkness
Released earlier this year in June 2023, this potent 4-pack EP is not to be missed. On Mitochondrion, raw electro antics, low-end bass, exp-electronics, and acid/glitch sounds are still present. Each composition boasts tangible breaks and a subdued surrounding darkness, making it sound like a sci-fi adventure from the outer reaches with rolling rhythms (ref. “Free Me”). There are additional acid breaks that slither their way through elsewhere, as evidenced on “Kilo” and “Micro Varis.” This is where all manner of UK and Detroit electro-techno threads coalesce, particularly on the explosive pulse and pulsars of the last track, “Rhetoric.” Another outstanding example of a go-to EP from a skilled electro artisan with a release-worthy imprint. Strongly recommended.
