Moon Phases is a slice of life displaying simpler times when electronic music was less about experimentation and more about harmonics and merging melodic synergies with contemplative sound structures.
Less about experimentation and more about harmonic and melodic synergies
Signaling what could very well be Esoteric Sob’s final release, Moon Phases is precisely as the Kavala, GR-based artist puts it: “Dreamy, warm sounds, with nostalgic vibes.” After a year of silence, Numb Capsule reveals an extended player packed with charming glitch escapes. Melodies cascade from one side of the horizon to the next, delicate rhythms burst at the seams only to be contained by crisp beatwork and expansive layers. The series attempts to “visualize mood swings, using the lunar phase as a metaphor, which is depicted with hand gestures“—each piece is a fragile snapshot of tracks produce between 2015 and 2018. Drifting like far away musical whispers, Moon Phases is a slice of life displaying simpler times when electronic music was less about experimentation and more about harmonics and merging melodic synergies with contemplative sound structures. If this is Esoteric Sob’s final release, we’ll be looking forward to the next chapter.
